The company
Grecian Magnesite is a privately owned company established in 1959, active in the mining and industrial sectors. The company is a worldwide leader in the production of high quality Caustic Calcined Magnesia, Deadburned Magnesia, Magnesium Carbonate and Basic Monolithic Refractories, with exports comprising 93% of total sales. The company’s annual production capacity for caustic and deadburned magnesia is close to 200.000 Mtons and for basic monolithic refractories it is 45.000 Mtons. The company’s major deposits along with its works are located in Chalkidiki, in Northern Greece, whereas the company’s assets also include deposits on the island of Evia, a modern Research & Development facility near Thessaloniki and the head office in Athens.
