Greek Exporters Association implements as a leading partner the INTERREG V-A European Cooperation Program “Greece-Bulgaria’ 2014-2020 which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund entitled CB CARBONFREE; the project aims to reduce the carbon footprint in the production of relevant standard.

The main results of the project are:

  • Improving the business environment in the cross-border area and creating a ‘product identity’.
  • Improving the extroversion and export orientation of businesses.
  • Network development.
  • Continuous provision of specialized information as to
  • The function of markets, the trends and the regulatory framework.
  • Introduction of innovative processes in production, standardization and disposal of products in the agri-food sector.

The project will have immediate results within the programming period as the actions described do not require time-consuming procedures (such as carbon footprint certificates exist and will require adjustments) and special authorizations so that the results will have immediate effect. Also, education and networking activities will be able to begin immediately, as well the pilot implementation of the multi-criteria analysis protocol in cross-border businesses. The impacts on improving the extroversion and export orientation of businesses will be shown at the end of the project.
