PROMOTING “STANDARDISATION – CERTIFICATION – MARKET CONTROL” IN THE INTERREGIONAL AREAS OF THE INTERREG COMMUNITY INITIATIVE OPERATIONAL PROGRAM
The project aims to reduce the gap between the interregional areas in the field of effective Market Control, fostering the cooperating countries on their way to their European Integration, as well as to improve the level of Controlling Market and safeguarding of the merchandised commodities and enterprises in the cross border area. Moreover, the project aims to study enterprises needs’ on quality/ conformity marks and to develop business plans for the establishment of a unified control body, the development of common quality marks for certain products and the creation of laboratories for specific categories of products of a high demand in the cross-border area.
The project is expected to raise the awareness of consumers in the cross-border area regarding the preference to products of a high quality, to encourage the companies to participate actively to the discussion on the quality issues in the cross-border area as well as to increase the extroversion of the involved organizations by organizing a series of information events.
The participating partners of the project are the Greek International Business Association (SEVE) as the Lead Partner, the Hellenic Standardization Organization (ELOT), the Chamber of Professionals & Handicrafts of Rodopi (ΕΒΕΡ) and the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI)
The project is co – funded by the European Union (ERDF) and National Funds of Greece and Bulgaria on the framework of the European Territorial Cooperation Programme “Greece – Bulgaria 2007-2013” under Axis 3. “Competitiveness & Human Resources”, Measure 3.3 “Promotion of Cooperation between research, technological and academic institutions and business organization”.
